Ganesh Chaturthi 2021: BMC Issues New Guidelines For Ganeshotsav, Know The Do's And Don'ts

Ganesh Chaturthi 2021 Mumbai: BMC has issued new guidelines for Ganeshotsav due to the Covid-19 pandemic. This guideline states conditions on celebrating the Ganeshotsav.

Mumbai: Ahead of Ganeshotsav new guidelines have been issued by Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) to prevent the spread of Covid-19 infection. The BMC has appealed to the people to celebrate Ganesh Chaturthi in a simple manner due to the prevailing situation of the Covid-19.

In the new guidelines, the BMC has allowed only 10 people, with conditions, to bring their Ganpati idol to the pandals.

The condition by the BMC says that these people should be fully vaccinated against the Covid-19 virus. In addition, a maximum of 5 persons will be allowed for the arrival of Ganesha idols at home.

The BMC has banned people from going to the mandals for darshan. BMC has also appealed to the mandals to arrange an online darshan facility of Ganapati for devotees. People have also been urged to avoid going to crowded places and maintain social distance from each other.

The BMC in its order has said that only popular mandals are allowed to immerse Ganpati idols in the sea. The order says that only 10 people can go at the time of immersion of the Ganesha idols. The BMC has not allowed devotees to go to idol immersion.

Due to the rising Covid-19 cases, BMC has allowed only 519 mandals to set up pandals for Ganeshotsav this time. According to guidelines issued by the state government, the BMC has implemented protocols for people to avoid crowded places.
