Fire Breaks Out In Residential Building In Mumbai Suburbs, 33 People Have Been Rescued So Far
"No loss of life has been reported yet," Mumbai Fire Brigade said.
A fire broke out in a residential building in suburban Mumbai’s Tilak Nagar area on Saturday afternoon, news agency ANI reported.
The incident was reported to the officials at approximately 2:43 on Saturday after which the fire department went to the scene, according to the authorities.
The authorities termed the fire as level 2.

"Level 2 fire reported in the New Tilak Nagar area, near Lokmanya Tilak Terminal around 2:43pm. Fire tenders on spot. No loss of life has been reported yet," Mumbai Fire Brigade was quoted by ANI on its official Twitter handle.

"Around 33 people were safely rescued by firemen from various places such are parapet walls, rooms, terraces & staircases. Fire has been brought under control. No injuries reported," BMC was quoted by ANI on its official Twitter Handle.

Earlier on Wednesday, in a similar incident, ten occupants were rescued after a fire broke out on the 18th floor of a residential building in Thane, Maharashtra, according to civic officials, PTI reported.

Nobody was hurt in the event, which happened at 2 p.m. in the Patlipada section of Ghodbunder Road, according to Avinash Sawant, chief of Thane local body's Regional Disaster Management Cell (RDMC).
"The blaze erupted on the 18th floor of the 27-storey building. Soon after being alerted, a team of the local fire brigade and RDMC personnel rushed to the spot and doused the fire. Ten residents from the affected floor were rescued," he said.
