Mamata Banerjee To Protest Against ‘Undemocratic Decision’ Of EC Amid 24-Hour Ban On Campaigning
The poll body took the decision while acting on a complaint made by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) against the TMC chief for appealing to the Muslim community to not to divide their votes.
New Delhi: Expressing ire over the decision to impose a 24-hour ban on her from campaigning in the ongoing assembly polls for alleged violation of the Model Code of Conduct, West Bengal Chief Minister and Trinamool Congress (TMC) supremo Mamata Banerjee on Monday said the Election Commission should be renamed as Modi Code of Conduct and announced to stage a protest at the Gandhi Murti in Kolkata from 12 p.m. tomorrow to protest against the undemocratic and unconstitutional decision of the poll body.
Escalating her attack on the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), the TMC chief said the saffron party can use all its might and added that nothing in this world could stop her from being with the people and sharing their pain.
"EC should rename MCC as Modi Code of Conduct! BJP can use all its might but NOTHING in this world can stop me from being with my people & sharing their pain. They can restrict me from visiting my brothers & sisters in Cooch Behar for 3 days but I WILL be there on the 4th day!" she tweeted.

“I am requesting my minority brothers and sisters with folded hands don’t divide the minority votes after listening to the devil (shaitaan) person who had taken money from the BJP. He passes many communal statements and initiates clashes between the Hindu and the Muslims. He is one of the apostles of the BJP, a comrade. The comrades of CPI-M and BJP are roaming around with the money given by the BJP to divide the minority votes. Please don’t allow them to do so. Keep in mind that if the BJP comes into the government then you will be in severe danger,” she had said.
