Don’t Believe In Rumours: BEST Trashes Reports Of Starting Electric Cab

Mumbai: Taking note of a picture of a red car with BEST logo and a mention of “BEST Electric Taxi” doing rounds on various social media platforms since the last few days, the Brihanmumbai Electricity Supply and Transport (BEST) on Thursday categorically stated that no such service has been started from its end and appealed to all not to believe in such rumours.

The BEST in a statement said it has caused a lot of confusion in the minds of Mumbaikars.

The civic transport and electricity provider public body added the people are having questions whether BEST has started this service or plans to have it in future.

Stating that no such service has been started nor does it look plausible in the near future, the BEST said: “Therefore, we appeal to the citizens and journalists not to believe in such rumours.”

The statement came as a post stating that BEST has started a new electric taxi in Mumbai’s Ghatkopar area has been doing the rounds on social media.

“BEST has started this new electric Taxi in Ghatkopar. 4.5rs. per km.,” tweeted one user.
