'Don't Insult Common People': Arvind Kejriwal Targets PM Modi Over 'Revdi' Jibe Again

Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal targetted Prime Minister Narendra Modi over 'revdi' jibe again as he asked him to not insult the common masses by calling the free services as 'revdi'.

New Delhi: Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Sunday targetted Prime Minister Narendra Modi's "revdi" jibe asking why individuals concerned about inflation should not have access to free education and healthcare.

The Delhi CM said the common man shouldn't be insulted by calling such services "free" or "revdi" as he shared a video where PM Modi in his address criticised the political culture of "revdi," or freebies.

In a Hindi tweet, Arvind Kejriwal wrote: "People are very worried due to the price rise. Why should they not get free education, treatment, medicines, and electricity? Politicians get so many facilities for free. Banks waived the loans of so many rich people. Do not insult the common people by saying muft revdi again and again."

After virtually heading the "grih pravesh" ceremony for the 4.51 lakh beneficiaries of the Prime Minister Awas Yojana (PMAY) in the Satna district of Madhya Pradesh on Saturday, PM Nsrendra Modi criticised the culture of freebies in his speech.

PM Modi said: "Ever taxpayer must be thinking that as I celebrate Diwali, the poor brothers in Madhya Pradesh too are rejoicing during the festival of lights. He is getting a pukka house. His daughter's life will improve. But when this taxpayer sees that the money collected from him is being spent on the distribution of revdi, he is pained."

The BJP and AAP have been attacking each other over the 'revdi' jibe as the Arvind Kejriwal-led party is trying to challenge the saffron party in the upcoming Gujarat and Himachal Pradesh elections.
