'Ravan Ke Khandaan Ke…': Acharya Pramod Krishnam, Pragya Thakhur Slam DMK Over ‘Gaumutra’ Remark

The BJP MP Sadhvi Pragya Singh Thakur claimed that "Gaumutra" or "cow urine" is medicine.

Amid row over DMK MP's "gaumutra states" remark, BJP MP Sadhvi Pragya Singh Thakur on Sunday lashed out at DNV Senthilkumar stating that he "insulted the Hindi-speaking region and 'Gaumata'," news agency ANI reported. On the other hand, Acharya Pramod Krishnam hits out at DMK by statinng: "Yeh sab Raavan ke khandaan ke log hai" (They are from Raavan's family).

Speaking with reporters, she stated: "We are proud that we are worshippers of 'Gaumata'. 'Gaumata' was already worshipped in Madhya Pradesh. In Rajasthan and Chhattisgarh, the BJP has come into power to be able to protect the cows."

The BJP MP further claimed that "Gaumutra" or "cow urine" is medicine. She stated: "Diseases like the Psoriasis can be cured with it."

Calling DMK MP's remark an insult to "Sanatana Dharma," Sadhvi Pragya stated: There are cow shelters in Tamil Nadu and Karnataka too. The country will not tolerate the insult to the symbols of 'Sanatana Dharma'."

On Tuesday, a DMK Lok Sabha member sparked outrage by referring to Hindi heartland areas as "gaumutra states" and asserting that the BJP can only win elections in these states, not in southern India.

During a debate in the Lower House on two bills related to Jammu and Kashmir, DNV Senthilkumar stated that people in this country should feel that the BJP's influence is restricted to winning elections "in the heartland states of Hindi and what we generally called gaumutra states." The statements came after some referred to the recent assembly election results as a 'North-South divide' after the BJP beat the Congress in Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, and Chhattisgarh, while the Congress prevailed in Telangana.

On 'Gaumutra' remark by DMK MP DNV Senthilkumar S, Acharya Pramod Krishnam said: "If DMK leaders continue to behave like this and keep talking like this against Sanatan Dharma, then BJP's flag will be hoisted not only in 'Gaumutra' states but also in states with 'saand'."

Addressing Lok Sabha, Senthilkumar said: "You (BJP) cannot come to South India. You see all the results of what happens in Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Telangana, Andhra Pradesh and Karnataka ... we are very strong over there."

He further said: "We will not be surprised if you have an option of converting all these states into Union territories so that you can come into indirect power because you can never dream of setting foot over there and taking control of all the southern states."
