PM Modi To Share Video Message With Nation At 9 AM Today, His Third Address Amid Coronavirus Outbreak

Prime Minister Narendra Modi took to his Twitter account and said that he will share a video message with the people of the country on Friday amid the nationwide lockdown in the wake of Covid-19 pandemic.

New Delhi: As India continues to fight against the Coronavirus pandemic which has brought the entire world to a standstill, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said on Thursday that he will share a video message with the people of the country on Friday amid the nationwide lockdown. PM Modi took to his official Twitter account inform about the same. "At 9 AM tomorrow morning, I'll share a small video message with my fellow Indians," the Prime Minister tweeted, without giving much insight on the subject of his message. This would be the third time when PM Modi would talk about the Covid-19 outbreak with people of the country ever since the virus entered Indian border and infected first person in January, this year. Earlier in the day, PM Modi held his second video conferencing with Chief Ministers of various states in order to discuss measures to combat Coronavirus outbreak which has infected over 2,000 people and caused 50 death so far. During the interaction, the Prime Minister thanked the states for supporting the lockdown decision due to which India has achieved some success in limiting the spread of Covid-19. ALSO WATCH | Lockdown: PM Modi To Share A Video Message At 9 AM On Friday PM Modi told CMs that the government's first priority for the next few weeks should be "testing, tracing, isolating and quarantining" and for this, administrative efforts down to the district level must be coordinated. He also appreciated the states for working together as a team to check the spread of the virus. He, however, warned that the global situation remains far from satisfactory and informed them about probability of a possible second wave of spread of the virus in some countries. On March 24, PM Modi addressed the nation, where he announced a 21-day complete lockdown in the country to fight Covid-19 pandemic and urged people to stay at home till April 14.
