A survivor of the Coromandel Express train crash recalled the horrific moments that led to one of the worst train accidents in the country. He recalled the way the whole train wobbled and how the survivors were unable to process the intensity of the mishap for a while. A survivor of A3 coach in Coromandel Express train, Ramesh from Tenkasi said, "The train started from Kolkata at 3.20 PM. Around 6.40 PM the train reached Balasore and then while it was moving near a railway crossing the accident took place."
"I was in the last A3 coach. When the accident took place, the whole train wobbled and all of us fell down. We could not process anything. When we came out of the coach, we were shocked to witness multiple coaches derailed and one of the coaches crashed into another coach," he told ABP Nadu.
Recollecting the horrific visuals, Ramesh said that many of the people were stuck in the mangled remains of the train. The villagers immediately rushed for help and they started rescuing the people. Based on the information, the police and medical professionals reached the spot.
Ramesh and the people in the coach reportedly suffered minor injuries.
On the reason for the mishap, Ramesh alleged, "It is said that there was a signal issue. The passenger train must have been stopped to give way for the passenger train. The people in the A1, A3 coaches escaped but the people after B7 coach have been badly affected by the derailment and many lost their lives, he said.
