Congress takes jibe at Modi's Metro ride, asks if soaring fuel prices forced PM to board train?
The Karnataka Congress has on Friday wondered if the steep rise in fuel prices had forced Prime Minister Narendra Modi to take a metro ride on the way to a foundation stone laying event here on Thursday.
NEW DELHI: The Karnataka Congress has on Friday wondered if the steep rise in fuel prices had forced Prime Minister Narendra Modi to take a metro ride on the way to a foundation stone laying event here on Thursday.
Modi had boarded the Airport Express Metro from Dhaula Kuan to Dwarka on way to lay the foundation stone of India International Convention and Expo Centre on Thursday. He had also shared some pictures of his metro ride on his Twitter handle.
"Travelled on the Delhi Metro to Dwarka, and on the way back. I had gone there to lay the foundation stone for a state of the art convention centre. Here are pictures from the Metro. (sic)," Modi tweeted.
Taking a jibe at the same, Karnataka Congress on Friday asked if soaring fuel prices in the national capital had forced the prime minister to use Delhi Metro or is it an "election jumla"?
"High Fuel prices in Delhi has forced @narendramodi ji to use Delhi Metro? Or one more election jumla?," Karnataka Congress said in post attaching Modi's tweet.
Modi travelled in Delhi Metro's Airport Express Line and boarded a metro train at Dhaula Kuan Metro Station at 3:13 pm and travelled up to Dwarka Sec-21 Metro Station, leaving the station at 3:27 pm, PTI quoted a senior DMRC official as saying.
