According to a PTI report, Delhi police have intensified security arrangements, particularly around churches, malls, and crowded market areas. Additional police forces and extra security checkpoints aim to ensure a safe environment during the anticipated heavy footfall on Christmas evening.

Meanwhile, in Kerala, the Archdiocese Protection Committee of the Ernakulam-Angamaly Archeparchy of the Syro-Malabar Church has announced a Synod-approved new style of mass to be offered in all parish churches on Christmas Day, PTI reported. The decision aligns with Pope Francis's call for a uniform mass, with the earlier form of mass continuing thereafter. The committee asserts that this decision is in accordance with agreements reached by the Papal delegate Archbishop Cyril Vasil and aims to avoid crises in the archdiocese's parishes. Archbishop Vasil noted that the agreement, though not officially signed, was secured, and the understanding reached will be forwarded to the next Synod.
