Earlier in the day, Moitra, too, had claimed there was “serious breach of privilege” after a private news channel accessed the confidential draft report on her alleged “misconduct”.
She flagged the issue in a letter to Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla. Posting a copy of the letter, she wrote on X, “Have not received any replies from my previous letter to Hon'ble Lok Sabha Speaker but am placing this on record anyway. There is clearly a total breakdown of all due process and rules of the Lok Sabha. Your inaction and lack of response to my previous complaints is also unfortunate.”

Meanwhile, the Parliament Ethics Committee adopted its report on the 'cash-for-query' allegations, recommending Moitra’s expulsion from the Lok Sabha, PTI reported. Sonkar said that six members supported the report, while four opposed it.
BJP leader Nishikant Dubey, who had approached Om Birla against Moitra, said that Congress voted against her.
“Punjab has always stood for India's identity and national security. Once again, Captain Amarinder Singh and Congress Party MP Preneet Kaur have not compromised on national security. India was, is, and will always remain grateful to the brave souls of Punjab,” Dubey said in a post on X.
