Amarinder Singh Tweets 'I Told You So' After Navjot Singh Sidhu Resigns As Punjab Congress Chief

New Delhi: Firing a fresh salvo at Navjot Singh Sidhu after he stepped down as the Punjab Congress chief, former chief minister Captain Amarinder Singh on Tuesday said he is not a stable man and not fit for the border state.
“I told you so…he is not a stable man and not fit for the border state of Punjab,” he tweeted.

The former chief minister, who has been at loggerheads with Sidhu, had earlier post his resignation said that he would fight tooth and nail to prevent the cricketer-turned-politician from becoming the Punjab CM face.
In another surprising turn in Punjab politics, Sidhu earlier in the day resigned as the state Congress chief.
Sidhu, who took to Twitter to make the announcement, said that he will continue to serve the Congress.
Sidhu also shared the resignation letter that he had written to Congress president Sonia Gandhi in which he mentioned that he can never compromise with Punjab's future and agenda.
“The collapse of a man's character stems from the compromise corner. I can never compromise on Punjab's future and the agenda for the welfare of Punjab. Therefore, I hereby resign as the President of the Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee. I will continue to serve the Congress,” he wrote in his resignation letter.

This comes amid speculations of the former Punjab chief minister leaving for Delhi with sources suggesting that he is likely to meet Union Home Minister Amit Shah and BJP president J.P. Nadda in the national capital.
