Earlier on Saturday, the CBI officials conducted searches in Delhi and Noida in connection with the bribery case filed against Ramanathan.

According to reports, two Delhi-based individuals allegedly acted as middlemen through whom Ranganathan obtained the purported bribes.

The CBI laid a trap and apprehended a private person and a director of a private company based in Delhi when the alleged bribe of Rs 10 lakh was received by the private person from the said private company’s director allegedly on behalf of the Director (Marketing) at GAIL.

GAIL Limited, a government-owned natural gas corporation, comes under the Union Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas.
