BJP appoints Rajiv Pratap Rudy as national spokesperson

Rudy was given independent charge of skill development ministry by Prime Minister Narendra Modi but was later dropped in a cabinet reshuffle.

The Bharatiya Janta Party on Saturday appointed former Union minister Rajiv Pratap Rudy as the party's national spokesperson.  The appointment was made by party president Amit Shah. A party statement said Rudy's appointment will take place with immediate effect. Rudy was given independent charge of skill development ministry by Prime Minister Narendra Modi but was later dropped in a cabinet reshuffle. He was sworn-in as Minister of State on 9 November 2014 and got Minister of State (Independent Charge) of Skill Development & Entrepreneurship. He lost to Lalu Prasad in 2004 General elections from the Chapra (Lok Sabha constituency). He was elected to Rajya Sabha from Bihar in 2010.
