Bihar: Former Muzaffarpur mayor CM Kumar and driver shot dead

This incident took place at Banaras Bank Chowk at 7:30 pm, when former Mayor CM Kumar was returning from some place in his car; when men travelling on a motorcycle over took him, forcing his car to stop.

New Delhi: A major incident shook Bihar’s Muzaffarpur on Sunday night as goons murdered former mayor of the city using modern weapons by firing at least 20 rounds at him. The assailants thereafter left the spot without fear. The incident also killed former Mayor’s driver. CM Kumar was quite popular in both political and personal lives. The incident has raised fear in the minds of the people. This incident took place at Banaras Bank Chowk at 7:30 pm, when former Mayor CM Kumar was returning from some place in his car; when men travelling on a motorcycle over took him, forcing his car to stop. After mayor’s car stopped, goons opened fire; which killed both the men on the spot. After this the miscreants fled the spot and shook the whole district. People immediately shut the shutters of their shops and left for their homes. The news of former Mayor CM Kumar’s murder spread like wildfire and the police immediately reached the spot, but couldn’t do much about the situation. Deceased Samir Kumar’s family members also reached the spot. The police are yet to find if the reason behind the murder is political or personal.
