Victory Celebrations: PM Modi Says Bihar Is Special, Women BJP's Silent Force | 10 Points

The saffron party-led NDA won 125 seats in the Bihar assembly elections and bagged 41 by-poll seats across 11 states.

New Delhi: A day after bagging an impressive win in Bihar Assembly Elections and sweeping bypoll elections held across the country, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday addressed Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) workers at party headquarters in the national capital. Amid cheering crowds at BJP headquarter, PM Modi thanked the people of Bihar for reposing faith in BJP. The National Democratic Alliance managed to retained Bihar Assembly for a second straight term in see-saw battle against Tejashwi Yadav-led Mahagathbandhan, the results of which were declared early Wednesday morning after almost 15 hours of counting.

In Bihar, NDA edged-past 122-mark and won 125 seats in the 243-member Bihar Assembly. The BJP, with 74 seats, emerged as the second-largest party in the state after RJD, which clinched 75 seats. Here are the highlights of PM Modi's speech at BJP headquarters in New Delhi: 1. Ending suspense on the new Bihar government, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said, "Under the leadership of Nitish Kumar the NDA workers will fulfil poll promises and oath given to people for development. "Despite 15 years of rule the people have given mandate to the NDA for development of the state, those who thought they can win with other issues have been proven wrong," PM said. 2. PM Modi also said that from Kashmir to every part of the country the BJP has gained electorally because its mantra is service and development. He also attacked the opposition political parties without taking names he said either there are family parties or parties controlled by family. 3. Attacking Congress, Modi said even the oldest party is in grip of a family but now the people know of it. 4. On the claims of silent voters of BJP, Prime Minister said that silent voters have become asset to the party and women is the silent voter which is giving BJP chance after chance. "Our mothers and sisters are our silent voters for whom the party is working relentlessly. Be it cooking gas or sanitary pads, BJP has schemes for them and party has worked for them even during the pandemic too," PM Modi said. 5. He also said new India is rising amid challenges and no pandemic can stop it as he thanked the people for participating in the democratic process during Covid times. He said many important decisions were taken during Covid, from farm laws to many initiatives. 6. He thanked the people of Bihar particularly and said that party will take new development initiatives in the state. He also warned parties indulging in violence and said that this could not be tolerated. 7. However he said that BJP will fullfill the promises under Nitish Kumar and he praised party chief JP Nadda for the strategy he made for the party in Bihar. In a close election in Bihar, BJP emerged as the second largest party and NDA has retained power after 15 years of rule. 8. "Those who aren't able to challenge us in a democratic way, they have taken up killing of BJP workers in some parts of the country to fulfil their desires. I want to make them understand that this dance of death won't help them win a mandate," PM Modi said while addressing BJP workers. 9. PM MOdi also said that the youth of the country today knows it very well that dynasty politics poses the biggest threat to democracy. Unfortunately, a national-level political party is caught in the web of family politics. In such a situation, the role of BJP increases even more, PM said. 10. "Diwali is just around the corner, celebrate it with full fervour. Take care of yourself and your family, and stay cautious of COVID-19. Also, everyone must remember the resolve of 'vocal for local' while purchasing goods from market," PM Modi said.
