Tarkishore Prasad, Renu Devi Elected Leaders Of BJP Legislature Party; Likely To Replace Sushil Modi As Bihar Deputy CMs: Sources
According to the sources, Sushil Kumar Modi will step down while BJP MLAs Tarkishore Prasad and Renu Devi will be named new Deputy CMs of Bihar.
While on one hand Nitish Kumar has been elected as the leader of the NDA legislature party and is set to return as Chief Minister of Bihar for the fourth time, there is a buzz that Sushil Modi will not be the Deputy Chief Minister this time. Though there is no clarity yet, the sources have claimed that Sushil Modi may get replaced by not one, but two Deputy Chief Ministers this time. According to the sources, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MLAs Tarkishore Prasad and Renu Devi will be named new Deputy CMs of the state.
Tarkishore Prasad has been elected the leader of the BJP Legislature. He has come as an MLA from Katihar. At the same time Renu Devi has been elected MLA from Bettiah for the fourth time.
After Tarkishore Prasad was elected the leader of the Legislature Party, Sushil Modi congratulated him. Taking to his Twitter, Sushil Modi in his Twitter post said, "Congratulations on Tarkishorji being unanimously elected the leader of the BJP Legislature!"
He also extended Congratulatory message to Renu Devi. "Hearty congratulations to Renu Devi from Nonia community on the unanimous election of Deputy Legislator of BJP Legislature Party for the fourth time !"

Meanwhile, Sushil Kumar Modi will step down from Deputy CM post and it remains to be seen what post he will be given in Nitish Kumar's Cabinet.
The NDA won 125 seats in the 243-member Bihar assembly against 110 clinched by the opposition Grand Alliance. The JD(U)'s tally of 43 this time, down from 71, is its worst performance since the 2005 Assembly polls.
