Bihar: Bomb Hurled Near CM Nitish Kumar's Jansabha In Nalanda, 1 Held

According to reports, it was a low-intensity bomb that blasted around 20 feet away from where the Bihar CM was present during the event.

Patna: A bomb was hurled near Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar's 'Jansabha' (public meeting) site in Nalanda district, news agency ANI reported.

According to reports, it was a low-intensity bomb that blasted around 20 feet away from where the Bihar CM was present during the event. Nalanda is Nitish Kumar's home district.

Reacting to the incident, Union Minister Giriraj Singh said that it’s worrying to see such repeated lapses in Nitish Kumar’s security.

Police have detained one person in connection with the case.

This is for the second time in few days that an incident like this has taken place.

Days ago, Nitish Kumar was attacked by a man during an event at his home turf Bakhtiyarpur in Patna.

Bihar police has prepared a blueprint to enhance the security of the chief minister after the attack on Nitish Kumar in Bakhtiyarpur. The blueprint was presented at a high-level meeting of the home department in Patna where every point of the security arrangement was discussed, news agency IANS reported.

Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, during a visit to Bakhtiyarpur town in Patna district on March 27, was attacked by a mentally deranged person. He had punched Nitish Kumar on the back before being overpowered by the commandos of special branch of Bihar police.

A similar accident took place when the security of Leader of Opposition in Assembly, Tejashwi Yadav was allegedly compromised in the state's Saharsa on April 1.

After his helicopter landed at the scheduled place, he was walking toward the stage when a large number of villagers surrounded him. He, somehow, managed to reach the stage with the help of his personal security guards.
