Bajrangi Bhaijaan actress Alka Kaushal jailed for bounced cheque: Reports

NEW DELHI: Bajrangi Bhaijaan actress Alka Kaushal and her mother Vishwa Mohan Badola have been been sentenced two of imprisonment by a District Court in Punjab. Sangrur court has upheld the two year jail term after Alka and her mother failed to defend themselves in a cheque bounce case. Alka is a known face in the film industry. She played the role of Kareena Kapoor’s mother in Salman Khan's Bajrangi Bhaijaan. She also played Kangana Ranaut’s mother in Queen. According to reports, Alka and her mother had borrowed Rs 50 lakh from a farmer based in Langrian village of Punjab's Jalandhar district for the purpose of produce a television show. However, the duo failed return his money. Alka later handed over to the farmer, Avatar Singh, two cheques of Rs. 25 lakh which were reported for bounce. The farmer had moved Malerkotla court in 2015, which sentenced both to two-year jail term. Alka and her mother then appealed in the Sangrur court for relief but it upheld the lower court's order on Wednesday. The actress and her mother are reportedly in Sangrur district jail.
