Ayodhya Ram Mandir Priest Reveals Rigours Of PM Modi's 11-Day 'Anushthan' In Run Up To Temple Inauguration
Ram Mandir: Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Chief Priest shed light on the meticulous rituals followed by PM Narendra Modi on his 11-day 'anushthan' which include sleeping on the floor, eating on a leaf, and chanting mantras.
Ram Mandir Inauguration: In the lead-up to the highly anticipated 'Pran Pratishtha' ceremony at the Ram temple, Prime Minister Narendra Modi embarked on an 11-day spiritual journey, following a series of intense religious practices. Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Chief Priest Acharya Satyendra Das shed light on the meticulous rituals which include sleeping on the floor, eating on a leaf, and chanting mantras.
Speaking to news agency ANI, Priest Acharya Satyendra Das informed, "The person who does 'anushthan' has to do prayshchit (penance). According to the rules, he has to sleep on the floor and cannot speak lies. He has to chant mantras like 'Gayatri mantra,' has to eat on a leaf, bathe twice a day, and follow 'Brahmacharya.' A Yajmana has to follow these norms..."
PM Modi Consuming Only Coconut Water: Report
Earlier, news agency PTI reported sources das revealing that during this period, Prime Minister Modi has adhered to strict dietary and lifestyle guidelines. He has been sleeping on a blanket placed directly on the floor and consuming only coconut water. Additionally, the Prime Minister has actively participated in various religious activities, including gau-pooja (cow worship) and charitable acts such as 'annadaan' (food donation) and distributing clothes, aligning with scriptural traditions, PTI's report stated.
Notably, Modi has undertaken visits to temples across the country, including revered sites like Ramkund and Shree Kalaram Temple in Nasik, Veerbhadra Temple in Lepakshi (Andhra Pradesh), Guruvayur Temple, and Thriprayar Shree Ramaswami Temple in Kerala. He will also be visiting temples in Tamil Nadu during his two-day visit.
Furthermore, the Prime Minister has taken a proactive role in promoting cleanliness at temples, launching an initiative to clean the premises of Shree Kalaram Temple in Nasik. The #SwachhTeerthCampaign has garnered widespread support.
