The Ram Lalla idol was installed inside the sanctum sanctorum of the Ayodhya Ram Temple on Thursday.
The Ram Lalla idol was installed on Thursday inside the sanctum sanctorum of the Ayodhya Ram Mandir on the day three of the week-long consecration ceremony. The idol was brought inside the temple's sanctum sanctorum on Wednesday night after a special puja. The idol was brought to the temple in a truck.
Rituals are being performed in the run-up to the January 22 consecration ceremony at Ram Temple which started on January 16 with Karmakuti puja.
The Ram Lalla idol was placed amid the chanting of prayers, according to the Shri Ram Janmbhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust.
The rituals will continue till January 21 and only minimum essential rituals will be performed for the 'Pran Pratishtha' of the idol of Ram Lalla on the day of the consecration, as per the Ram temple trust officials.
There are 121 'acharyas' who are conducting the rituals.
For the consecration ceremony on January 22, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be the main 'yajman', said Laxmikant Dixit, the main priest for the ritual on Wednesday, reported PTI.
He also rejected the reports that trust member Anil Mishra would be the main yajman on the consecration day. Mishra is performing rituals with his wife in the run-up to the main event.
"The main 'archak' (priest) made it clear that PM Modi will be the main yajman for the 'pran pratishtha' rituals in Ayodhya," Dixit said, according to PTI.
