Atal Bihari Vajpayee's demise: Schools and offices to be closed today in Delhi

All offices and schools under the South Delhi Municipal Corporation (SDMC) will also be closed today.

NEW DELHI: Delhi government offices, schools and institutions will remain closed on Friday as a mark of respect to former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee, Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia said. "All Delhi govt offices, schools and other institutions shall remain closed tomorrow, as mark of respect for our dear departed Sh Atal ji," Mr Sisodia tweeted. All offices and schools under the South Delhi Municipal Corporation (SDMC) will also be closed today. "All offices and schools under the SDMC, including zone-level offices, will be closed on Friday in tribute to the departed leader," South Delhi Mayor Narendra Chawla said. Vajpayee (93) died at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) here this evening after a prolonged illness.
