Aryan Khan Bribery Case: Bombay HC Grants Interim Relief To Sameer Wankhede, Next Hearing On June 8
The Bombay HC granted interim relief to former Zonal Director of Mumbai NCB Sameer Wankhede in Rs 25 Crore extortion case pertaining to the arrest of Aryan Khan in the 2021 Cruise Ship Drugs Case.
The Bombay High Court on Monday granted interim relief to former Zonal Director of Mumbai Narcotics Control Bureau of India Sameer Wankhede in Rs 25 Crore extortion case pertaining to the arrest of Aryan Khan in the 2021 Cruise Ship Drugs Case. The high court has asked Central Bureau of Investigation to file its response till June 3. Next hearing in the matter is on June 8. On Sunday, Wankhede was booked by the CBI for allegedly demanding Rs 25 crore as a bribe for not framing Bollywood actor Shah Rukh Khan's son Aryan Khan in the drugs-on-cruise case.

"My wife Kranti Redkar and I are receiving threats for the last 4 days and obscene messages coming on social media. I will write to Mumbai Police Commissioner today about it and demand special security," Wankhede told ANI. Wankhede was questioned for the second consecutive day on Sunday in connection with the case. After coming out of the NCB office, Wankhede said that he will continue to cooperate in the investigation.

"I am fully cooperating with the CBI and will continue to do it. I answered whatever I was asked by CBI," Wankhede told ANI. The agency said that the deal was closed for Rs 18 crore adding that assets to Wankhede were not proportionate to his known sources of income. Wankhede violated the conduct rules by producing conversations he had with actor Shah Rukh Khan over Aryan Khan's arrest in the drugs-on-cruise case, ANI reported the NCB sources as saying.
