As Tamil Nadu BJP Gets New President, What’s Next For Annamalai? Amit Shah Breaks Silence On His Role

Amit Shah stated that Annamalai’s contribution has been unprecedented—whether in advancing the policies of PM Modi among the people or in driving the party’s initiatives from village to village.

Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Thursday praised outgoing Tamil Nadu BJP chief K Annamalai for his contributions to the party’s growth in the state and said his organisational skills would be utilized in the party’s national framework.

In a statement posted on X (formerly Twitter), Shah said, “The Tamil Nadu BJP has received a nomination for the post of state president only from Shri @NainarBJP Ji. As the President of the Tamil Nadu BJP unit, Shri @annamalai_k Ji has made commendable accomplishments. Whether it is carrying the policies of PM Shri @narendramodi Ji to the people or taking the party’s programs from village to village, Annamalai Ji's contribution has been unprecedented.”

He further added, “The BJP will leverage Annamalai Ji’s organizational skills in the party's national framework.”
