He stated that six FIRs have been filed and 114 persons have been detained as a result of the crackdown on members of the Waris Punjab De organisation.

Police also suspect a "ISI angle" and foreign sponsorship in the case, according to Gill.

In response to an inquiry, he stated that the NSA had been used against five persons associated with the organisation.

Four detainees, Daljit Singh Kalsi, Bhagwant Singh, Gurmeet Singh, and Pradhanmantri' Bajeke, have been sent to the Dibrugarh Central Prison in Assam under strict legislation.

He further stated that the NSA was used against Harjit Singh, who surrendered on Saturday night in Jalandhar.

Harjit Singh, Amritpal Singh's uncle, will also be transferred to Dibrugarh Central Prison, according to police.

After the action against the radical preacher, Gill stated that police were conducting flag marches throughout the state and holding peace committee meetings in all districts. Punjab is very peaceful, he continued.

The official also encouraged people not to listen to rumours and fake news, threatening anybody discovered to be engaged with harsh punishment.

The police initiated a big crackdown on Amritpal and members of his organisation, 'Waris Punjab De,' on Saturday.

As his cavalcade was stopped in Jalandhar district, the elusive preacher gave cops the slip and evaded their trap.
