Amit Shah & Jaitley to visit ailing TN CM Jayalalithaa at Chennai hospital

New Delhi: Bhartiya Janta Party Chief Amit Shah and Finance Minister Arun Jaitley will on Wednesday visit Chennai, Tamil Nadu to meet Chief Minister Jayalithaa and will enquire about her health. As per the information shared by TN BJP leader Tamilisai Soundararajan, on her official Twitter account, the visit will take place at 5 pm on Wednesday. The 68-year-old Chief Minister has been hospitalised in Apollo hospital in Chennai and is down with fever and dehydration. She was admitted to the hospital on September 22. Jayalalithaa who has been keeping unwell for a long time now, suggested to transfer her portfolio’s to TN Finance Minister O Panneerselvam; which was implemented on Tuesday. According to the statement, Governor Ch.Vidyasagar Rao has, under Clause (3) of the Constitution's Article 166, allocated the subjects hitherto dealt with by Jayalalithaa to Panneerselvam on her advice. Jayalalithaa held the portfolios of Public, Indian Administrative Service, Indian Police Service, Indian Forest Service, General Administration, District Revenue Officers, Police and Home. Panneerselvam will also preside over the cabinet meetings. "This arrangement has been made as per the advice of Hon'ble Chief Minister and will continue until the Hon'ble Chief Minister Selvi J Jayalalithaa resumes her duties. Selvi J Jayalalithaa will continue to be the Chief Minister," the Raj Bhavan statement said.
