Amit Shah In Jammu: Home Minister Says 'Will Not Let Those Wanting To Disrupt Peace Succeed'

Today, the Union Minister is set to lay foundation stone for various development projects in Jammu. He will also meet MPs, MLAs and senior BJP leaders later in the day.

New Delhi: On the second day of his Jammu-Kashmir visit, Union Home Minister Amit Shah inaugurated a new Campus of IIT-Jammu.

While addressing an event after the inauguration ceremony, Amit Shah said: "I came to Jammu today to say that time of injustice to the people of Jammu is over, now no one can do injustice to you. Some are trying to disrupt the era of development here, but want to assure you that no one will be able to disturb the era of development".

"Today is the birth anniversary of Prem Nath Dogra. People of India can't forget him. He along with Shyama Prasad Mukherjee gave the slogan that in a country two Vidhan, two Nishan, two Pradhan will not work," he added, as quoted by news agency ANI.

Reiterating his statement on the development of the union territory, Amit Shah said: "Nobody can stop the era of development that has started in J&K. It is the land of temples, of Mata Vaishno Devi, of Prem Nath Dogra, the land of the sacrifice of Syama Prasad Mukherjee. We will not let those who want to disrupt peace in J&K succeed".

Addressing questions raised about security in view of recent targetted killings of civilians in J&K, the Union Home Minister responded saying: "Some people are raising questions about security. Between 2004-14, 2,081 people lost their lives, 208 people per year killed. From 2014 to Sep 2021, 239 people lost their lives. We are not satisfied as we want to build a situation where nobody loses their lives and terrorism completely ends".

Hitting at the opposition parties in Jammu & Kashmir, he further commented: "When we introduced new Industrial policy, three families that exploited you, used to mock saying who will come here. But due to PM Modi's feat, Rs 12,000 crore investment has come till now. I want to tell you that Rs 51,000 crore investment will come before 2022... giving lakhs of jobs to youth".

"What did these three families give to Jammu and Kashmir for 70 years - 87 MLAs, 6 MPs. Modi Ji has done the work of making 30,000 people elected representatives, a Panchayat has been formed in every village... Now 'Dadagiri' of these three families will not work," Amit Shah remarked.

Today, the Union Minister is set to lay the foundation stone for various development projects in Jammu. He will meet Members of Parliament, Members of Legislative Assembly as well as senior BJP leaders later in the day.

As per the schedule, Amit Shah will also visit Gurudwara Digiana in Jammu today.
