Amarinder Singh To Meet Congress Panel Tomorrow After Navjot Sidhu And Aides Demand Resignation

Punjab Chief Minister will meet the Congress committee to discuss the issues and complaints filed by MLAs and MPs, mainly Navjot Singh Sindhu's aides.

Chandigarh: Infighting is being witnessed in Capt Amarinder Singh's Punjab government as more than 20 MLAs are not satisfied with the way the state government is functioning. For the past few days, leaders including Navjot Singh Siddhu have been demanding the Congress party to change the Chief Minister of Punjab. Amid the chaos and infighting, Congress has formed a committee to address the issues, the leaders of Punjab are facing.

At least 25 leaders of the Punjab Congress, mostly aides of Navjot Sidhu met the three-member panel set up by the high command on Tuesday to resolve infighting in the state unit of the party and now sources have revealed that Capt Amarinder Singh left for Delhi at 11:30 am on a private jet from Chandigarh and is likely to meet the panel.

Sources have revealed that Capt Amarinder Singh has reached Delhi will meet the Congress panel tomorrow.

The committee is headed by the Leader of Opposition in Rajya Sabha Mallikarjun Kharge, with former Delhi MP J P Agarwal and AICC general secretary in charge of Punjab Harish Rawat as members.

According to sources, the leader discussed complained about CM Amarinder Singh being “inaccessible" and some wanted to resolve the feud between the CM and Navjot Singh Sidhu as it was harming the party prospects.

The committer will send a report to Congress President Sonia Gandhi after meeting with the Punjab Chief Minister and a final decision will be taken by the Congress administration.

The party leaders who are unhappy with the Capt Amarinder Singh government said that the meeting was being organised to strengthen the party ahead of 2022. “With brainstorming with all MLAs, the main focus is to restore Punjab to its original glory,” sources said.
