Senior Congress Leader Abhishek Manu Singhvi Tests Positive For Coronavirus

Ever since the breakout of Coronavirus in the country, many politicians and serving ministers were infected by COVID-19 virus.

New Delhi: A renowned Supreme Court lawyer and senior Congress leader Abhishek Manu Singhvi has tested positive for COVID-19 on Friday. Since his symptoms appear to be very mild, he has been placed under home quarantine. But keeping full precautions, the leader has been attending all the legal matters via video conferencing. Ever since the breakout of Coronavirus in the country, many politicians and serving ministers were infected by Covid-19 virus. The latest of all was Delhi health minister Satyendra Jain who had tested positive for Coronavirus last week. Jain had undergone plasma therapy at the Max Hospital after his condition worsened due to Coronavirus on last Friday. Two days post treatment, the Office of Delhi Health Minister on Sunday informed that Minister's fever subsided and oxygen level also improved. ALSO READ | International Flight Operations To And From India To Remain Suspended Till July 15 Witnessing the improvements, Jain underwent another COVID-19 test where he finally resulted to be negative. He was discharged from hospital earlier today. In his absence, Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia had taken over his portfolio as health minister. Besides Jain, Aam Aadmi Party MLA from Kalkaji, Atishi also tested positive for the novel Coronavirus. The 39-year-old AAP representative had complained of mild fever on Tuesday last week after which she underwent medical tests for Coronavirus. As per the reports, Atishi is under home quarantine after the test reports declared her to be COVID-19 positive. On whole, as many as 4,90,401 Coronavirus cases have been recorded in India so far. Nearly 2,85,637 people have recovered while 1,89,463 people are still suffering from the disease. India's death toll till date stands at 15,301. In the past 24 hours, as many as 17,296 new Coronavirus cases have been detected across India. Meanwhile, 13,940 people have recovered from the disease while 407 have lost their lives due to this deadly pandemic.
