Chennai: 17 men who allegedly raped 11-year-old girl for 7 months thrashed severely by lawyers

The accused involve security men, lift operator & water suppliers in the apartment where the class seven student minor girl stays.

CHENNAI: Police on Tuesday arrested 17 men for sexually assaulting an 11-year-old girl over a period of seven months inside her apartment campus in Chennai. In the horrific case, the accused involve security men, lift operator & water suppliers in the apartment where the class seven student minor girl stays. As per reports, the matter came to light after the victim, narrated the sequence of incidents to her elder sister, who later brought this to the notice of their parents, following which a complaint was lodged. IMAGE: ANI Earlier, the police said, "A complaint was registered by the mother alleging that the girl was sexually assaulted by around 15 people on various days in various places inside the apartment campus". The news of the sexual assault drew massive outrage in the state. The accused drew the ire of lawyers in the court complex who punched, kicked and dragged many of them on the ground.
