The 200cc adventure bike was showcased in China on the 25th-anniversary celebrations of the Honda-Wuyang alliance

Honda's New CB190X Adventure Bike Unveiled

Honda has been working on a small capacity adventure motorcycle for a while now and the CB190X showcased here is the second bike to come out of it. Honda had unveiled the CBF190X Fight Hawk a few months back in China. The CB190X is an adventure bike based on the CB190R naked. It was developed under the Honda-Wuyang alliance, a joint venture (similar to Hero-Honda) that stretches back 25 years.

The CB190X gets long travel suspension but misses out on on/off-road tyres, instead sticking to road-biased ones. It does get adventure add-ons like a secondary high-set mudguard, high windscreen, hand guards, crash bars, underbelly skid plate and a new aluminum rear rack which has mounts for fitting panniers.

It is powered by the CB190R's 184cc air-cooled and fuel-injected single which makes 15.9PS @ 8000rpm and 15Nm of torque @ 7000rpm and is mated to a five-speed gearbox.

While the bike is not coming to India, what got us hot under the collar is how easily the Honda Hornet 160 sold in India could be transformed into something like this. Honda has been talking about a new bike in the sub-200cc segment and while we expect that to be a faired version of the Hornet 160, we would sure love to see an adventure version instead. Hero MotoCorp had the Impulse which did not do well when launched but is still much sought after in the used bike market. A small-sized ADV is something we enthusiasts would love to see come here as currently, baring the Royal Enfield Himalayan, there are no sub-600cc adventure tourers sold in India.
