Goodyear Assurance TripleMax 2 Tyre Launched In India

Aids wet surface braking and improves handling

Goodyear has launched the second iteration of its Assurance TripleMax tyres in India. Called TripleMax 2, the tyre is meant for mid-passenger segment cars in the country. The tyre launch coincided with the 120th anniversary of Goodyear’s establishment in 1898.

Goodyear says the Assurance TripleMax 2 helps in reducing braking distance on wet surfaces thanks to its HydroTred technology. Goodyear claims the tech offers excellent road grip and has a tread pattern which allows easy dispersion of water. Besides that, the tyremaker says that the broader sidewalls offer better handling and improve safety apart from cutting road noise. The company claims the newer version to be better in all the aspects than the first-gen Assurance TripleMax, launched in 2015. Moreover, the new tyre is more durable than its predecessor, Goodyear quoted.

The two unique selling points of the TripleMax were its premium quality at affordable pricing and 2 years unconditional warranty.

Since the tyre maker has tied up with most leading car brands in the country, the previous Assurance TripleMax comes as standard fitment in many cars (e.g. Maruti Suzuki Ciaz). Some popular Indian cars compatible with the model include the Ford Figo, Tata Tiago, Honda Amaze, Honda City, Hyundai Creta, Maruti Baleno, Maruti Swift, Maruti Dzire, Maruti Vitara Brezza and Toyota Innova Crysta.

We expect the price of the Assurance TripleMax 2 to be tagged in the similar price band as its predecessor. In India, it competes with the likes of Bridgestone B250, Apollo Acelere, Continental Conti Sport Contact SC3, Yoko Earth-1, JK UX1, Yokohama V105, MRF ZSLK, and Michelin Primacy 3 ST.
