Here are 4 Indian apps that are racing to replace TikTok after the ban in India.

New Delhi: After the Indian government banned 59 Chinese apps including TikTok, a vacuum for its alternative has been created and several Indian apps are now eyeing to be the next TikTok in India. ALSO READ | Chinese App Ban: Homegrown App Developers Delighted, Say Time For 'Digital Atma Nirbhar’ Here is a look at some popular alternatives: Mitron: Back when the border tensions between India and China were first reported this year, Indians had passionately called for a boycott of Chinese products. 'Mitron' became a beneficiary of the anti-China sentiment that asked for an Indian alternative of TikTok to be opted for. The app witnessed a sudden spike in downloads however, its journey has not been smooth. After reports of it being a rehashed version of a Pakistani app, the app was removed from Google's PlayStore. But it has made a comeback and has over 10 Million installs on Playstore. Roposo: Roposo has been marketing aggressively to position itself as an alternative to TikTok. Several influencers on social media have been promoting it as well. The promotion has perhaps helped the app attract over 50 million downloads on Playstore. According to the app developers, it has "3 lakh+ videos posted daily across 25 channels". It supports Hindi, English, Punjabi, Gujarati, Marathi, Kannada, Tamil, Telugu and Bengali. According to the app creators, it is "Your hot new stage to set the world on fire with your flaming talent, be creative with WhatsApp status, Videos, Audio clips, Gif stickers, and photos." After the TikTok ban was announced on Monday, Chingari is witnessing over 1 lakh downloads and over 2 million views per hour. It is also among the top trending mobile application on PlayStore, currently at the third spot in the 'Top Free' category. Bolo Indya: Another short video platform is Bolo Indya, which allows users to create, watch and share videos. Besides English, it supports Indian languages such as Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Bengali, Malayalam, Kannada, Marathi, Punjabi and Odia. The mobile app has more than 1 Million installs on Google's Playstore.
