BJP MP Wants Rahul Gandhi To Undergo Coronavirus Test After Returning From Italy

Speaking outside the Parliament, Bhaduri said that Rahul Gandhi should also go through medical check-up to ensure that he is not infected with the deadly virus.

New Delhi: A day after Rahul Gandhi slammed Narendra Modi over Central government's response to the deadly Coronavirus outbreak in India, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MP from Delhi Ramesh Bidhuri on Wednesday suggested that the former Congress president too must go through due process of COVID-19 quarantine and sample checking as he has recently returned from Italy. With total confirmed cases of Coronavirus reaching 2,036 and 52 deaths till Tuesday, Italy is the worst-hit country in Europe. Speaking outside the Parliament, Bhaduri said that Rahul Gandhi should also go through medical check-up to ensure that he is not infected with the deadly virus.
" Rahul Gandhi recently came from Italy. I don't know if he was checked at the airport. He should also go through medical check-up to ensure that he is not infected with the deadly virus. "
-Ramesh Bidhuri, BJP MP
Bidhuri further said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi himself talked about Coronavirus as it was a very serious situation with now 28 positive cases in India. When asked to comment on Congress leader's visit to riot-affected areas of Delhi, Bidhuri said that it would have been better had he undertaken this visit before tensions erupted.
" He (Rahul) should have issued an appeal when people were coming out on the streets. His mother (Sonia Gandhi) should not have told the protesters to pick their sides. "
