Kerala: SFI Activists Show Black Flags To Governor Arif Mohammed Khan Again

Earlier this month, Kerala Governor launched a strong criticism against Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan, accusing him of orchestrating a 'conspiracy' aimed at causing physical harm,

Another round of black flag protests erupted against Kerala Governor Arif Mohammad Khan by the Students' Federation of India (SFI) activists on Thursday. As Arif Mohammad Khan returned from New Delhi, SFI workers staged a protest while the former was on his way to Rajbhavan from Thiruvananthapuram airport near General Hospital junction.

According to ANI, Black flags were raised against Kerala Governor Arif Mohammed Khan near the General Hospital in Thiruvananthapuram. The protestors were detained by police.

The police apprehended four activists who were present at the scene of the incident. This event transpired shortly after Khan addressed the media at the airport, declaring his willingness to exit his vehicle if someone approached it.

During his interaction with reporters, he also addressed the CPI(M) accusation that he was endeavoring to saffronize universities by appointing advocates of Hindu right-wing groups to their senates.

Justifying his actions, Khan said, "I have taken into consideration their merits that have been submitted to me. I have not taken their political affiliation into consideration." Kerala in the last few weeks has witnessed dramatic scenes and verbal duels between the Governor on one side and Chief Minister and the SFI on the other over the issue of appointments made by Khan to the senate of some universities in the state.

Earlier this month, Kerala Governor launched a strong criticism against Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan, accusing him of orchestrating a 'conspiracy' aimed at causing physical harm, as reported by the news agency PTI. The allegation stemmed from an incident in which activists belonging to the Students Federation of India (SFI), the student wing of the CPI(M), reportedly struck Khan's vehicle while he was en route to the Thiruvananthapuram International Airport for his journey to Delhi.
