Rajasthan CM Announces Compensation After Cylinder Blast Kills 4 Injures 60 In Jodhpur

The fire was caused after a cylinder exploded in the house, said District Collector Himanshu Gupta. 

New Delhi: 4 people were reported dead while 60 were injured including women and children after a house caught fire during a wedding ceremony in Jodhpur's Bhungra village in Rajasthan, reported news agency ANI. The fire was caused after a cylinder exploded in the house, said District Collector Himanshu Gupta. 

"Four people died in the fire at a house that was caused due to a cylinder explosion in Bhungra village of Jodhpur," Gupta said.

"It's a very serious accident. 42 people out of the 60 injured were referred to MGH hospital. Treatment is going on," he added. 

A team of fire brigade with water tankers was called after the police arrived at the spot.

Rajasthan Chief Minister addressed the incident and announced compensation as per rules. 

"Some children have sustained burn injuries. There have been deaths. Our efforts are underway to save the lives of as many people as we can. We'll try such incidents don't occur in future. Compensation to be given as per rules," he said.
