The full moon has been considered as having a special religious significance. This date is considered to be the most favourable for undertaking auspicious tasks. This date is also known as Shravan Purnima. The day is considered good for charity, 'Pitra Tarpan' and offering water to the moon.

The special thing is that the month of Sawan ends on this day. The month of Sawan is considered to be very holy. Lord Shiva is worshipped in the Sawan month. The last day of Sawan is equally important, this elevates the religious significance of this day.

Raksha Bandhan Time 

According to Panchang, 'Shobhan Yog' will be from 06.15 AM to 10.34 AM on Sunday, August 22. 'Dhanishtha nakshatra' will last until around 07.39 PM. On August 22, 2021, the most auspicious time to tie rakhi will be from 01.42 PM to 04.18 PM.

There are a few important things that one should not forget on Raksha Bandhan. You should take a bath on this day and wear clean clothes. The rules of cleanliness on Raksha Bandhan should be strictly followed.
