Only Two Indians Among 100 Highest Paid Celebs on Instagram. Guess Who?

Hopper HQ shared the report of top earning celebrities of 2022, top earning influencers of 2022, top earning sports stars of 2022 and the accounts which shrunk in 2022. 

New Delhi: In this day and age, Instagram and other social media platforms have become a preferred mode of engagement with fans for celebrities worldwide. The direct communication channel has led many celebs to interact with fans through live sessions, Q & A's etc. Recently, a UK based Instagram planning and scheduling platform, Hopper HQ, released a list of top 100 celebrities who earn the most money out of the platform. Among the list are only two Indians: Virat Kohli and Priyanka Chopra Jonas. 

Hopper HQ shared the report of top earning celebrities of 2022, top earning influencers of 2022, top earning sports stars of 2022 and the accounts which shrunk in 2022. 

In the Instagram list, on the top is Christiano Ronaldo with 442,267,575 followers and $2,397,000 cost per post followed by Kylie Jenner with 338,626,294 followers and $1,835,000 cost per post,  Lionel Messi with 327,954,875 followers and $1,777,000 cost per post, Selena Gomez with 320,082,515 followers and $1,735,000 per post and Dwayne Johnson on number 5 with 315,999,932 followers and $1,713,000 cost per post. In the top 100 list, Indian cricketer Virat Kohli ranks on number 14 with 200,703,169 followers and $1,142,000 cost per post while Priyanka Chopra features on number 27 with 77,985,157 followers and $423,000 per post.

Many other Asian celebs feature on the list but the US celebs dominate the list.

According to the same report, sports stars are overtaking celebrities as the highest earners on Instagram in 2022. The top 4 sports stars- Ronaldo, Messi, Neymar and Kohli each have more than 100 million Instagram followers. The report also said that this year 20% of Instagram accounts have seen a decline in followers and cost per post.
