PS Plus Free Games For January: PlayStation Plus subscribers eagerly anticipating the lineup of free PS4 and PS5 games for January 2025 may have to exercise extra patience this time around. As reported by Daily Express, due to the way the calendar falls, Sony plans to announce the upcoming titles on January 1 at 4:30 pm GMT (10 pm IST for Indian users). Gamers will then have access to download and play the new offerings starting January 7.

While the delay may be frustrating, there’s a silver lining, reported Daily Express, as subscribers now have more time to claim December’s impressive collection of free games, which has drawn widespread praise.

Which PS Plus Games Were Announced In December

The December lineup is headlined by the critically acclaimed co-op adventure It Takes Two. Created by Hazelight Studios, known for Brothers: A Tale of Two Sons and A Way Out, this unique title combines clever puzzles, humour, and a heartfelt narrative. Players embark on a whimsical journey as a couple transformed into dolls by a magic spell, working together to navigate challenges.

Another standout from December is the strategy game Aliens: Dark Descent, which has earned an 88 per cent user score on Steam. Set on Planet Lethe, the game puts players in command of Colonial Marines tasked with containing a Xenomorph outbreak. The real-time strategy game raises the stakes with its permadeath mechanic, making every decision critical as players face off against iconic aliens and new horrors in the Alien franchise.

Rounding out the offerings is TemTem, an MMO-inspired adventure reminiscent of Pokémon. Featuring over 165 creatures to tame and seven islands to explore, the game allows players to battle other “Tamers,” explore dungeons, breed creatures, and even build their own homes.
