The Waliv police accused TV actor Sheezan Khan of aiding his co-star Tunisha Sharma to commit suicide in a 524-page chargesheet.
New Delhi: In a 524 pages chargesheet submitted to the Vasai court on Thursday, the Waliv police accused TV actor Sheezan Khan of aiding and assisting his co-star Tunisha Sharma's suicide in December 2022.
After formal charges have been filed, the trial may begin.
At this time, Sheezan Khan is in judicial custody. Sheezan had petitioned the Bombay High Court for a quashing of the FIR lodged against him and a bail hearing earlier. Previously on January 13th, the Vasai Court in Maharashtra denied the TV star bail.
Khan was booked at the Thane jail on December 31. The Bombay high court will consider his bail application this Friday.
Tunisha Sharma was found dead on December 24 on the set of her show. Her former boyfriend and co-star Sheezan Khan was arrested on abetment to suicide charges and later sent to judicial custody till January 13 after her mother Vanita Sharma filed a complaint against him. They had broken up a fortnight before her death. Since then both Tunisha and Sheezan’s families have levelled allegations against each other.
Tunisha Sharma's lawyer claimed in court that his client was pressured to kill herself by Sheezan Khan. He said that during their time together, he lied to her on several occasions. Tunisha was devastated by the end of their relationship and ultimately committed suicide.
Sheezan Khan’s sisters Falaq Naaz and Shafaq Naaz and mother Kehkeshan Kaifi had held a press conference claiming his innocence. They had also said that Tunisha’s mother controlled her finances and she often had no money with her.
Following this, there was a lot of mudslinging between the two families, wherein Vanita Sharma also appeared in an interview alleging that she gave 3 lakh rupees to her daughter in the last three months and shared that her bank statements can be checked on account of Sheezan’s family’s accusations.
