Umar Riaz appears to have come to the defense of his brother, Asim Riaz, following Asim's altercation with 'Khatron Ke Khiladi 14' host Rohit Shetty.

New Delhi: Umar Riaz appears to have come to the defense of his brother, Asim Riaz, following Asim's altercation with 'Khatron Ke Khiladi 14' host Rohit Shetty. Umar shared a cryptic message on his X account (formerly known as Twitter) that seemed to address the situation.

Umar Riaz shares tweet in brother Asim's defence

Although Umar did not explicitly mention Asim or Rohit, the timing of his post led many online to believe he was defending his brother.

His tweet reads as, "Don't degrade someone to a level that their worst demons come out! After that, anything that happens is not justified and never will be! Love can do wonders to a person and hate can make a person his own worst enemy! Just saying!"

Netizens' reaction

One social media user urged Umar to speak to Asim about his behavior, commenting, "Please make him understand that he is wrong... instead of taking his side, tell him to change his behavior... if he had done this in #BiggBoss, #SalmanKhan would have thrown him out of the industry." Another added, "Please explain to Asim that he's no longer in Bigg Boss and not everyone is trying to bully him; he can just chill and live his life... it's okay to accept defeat."

Asim and Rohit's spat

The controversy arose during a task on 'Khatron Ke Khiladi 14,' where Asim, along with contestants Aashish Mehrotra and Niyati Fatnani, had to collect flags from a seesaw. Aashish and Niyati completed the task, but Asim did not, leading to a confrontation. Asim claimed the task was impossible and challenged the team to perform it in front of him, stating he wouldn't accept any money if they succeeded. Rohit Shetty then showed a rehearsal video demonstrating that the task was feasible, asserting that they test all challenges before contestants attempt them.

Rohit responded to Asim's challenge by saying, "Kal bhi tune bahot bakwaas ki" (Yesterday also you said a lot of nonsense), and warned Asim against being disrespectful, adding, "Sun meri baat sunle warna mei utha ke yahi patak dunga. Aise mere se badtameezi nahi karna" (Listen to me, otherwise I'll thrash you here. Don't be disrespectful to me). Asim approached Rohit aggressively but was stopped by the crew.

Following this, Asim was asked to leave the show. Rohit Shetty commented, "I wish him all the luck, but now he can't continue in this show. He has a point of view, no doubt about it, and I respect that. I wish him all the luck. He is a young kid, and may God bless him with success."
