Smriti Irani's speculated return to Rupali Ganguly-led TV show 'Anupamaa' has been speculated for a long time now

New Delhi: Smriti Irani's speculated return to Rupali Ganguly-led TV show 'Anupamaa' has been speculated for a long time now. Smriti Irani, now a venerated politician was once TV industry's leading actress who established herself with the portrayal of Tulsi Virani in ' Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi'. Off late, there have been rumours about her potential return, however, Irani has now categorically denied these claims, putting an end to them.

As per a TellyChakkar report some time ago, there was a social media post which read, "Smriti Irani To Have A Special Cameo In The Show Anupama Post Generation Leap?” Irani who stumbled on this post was quick to react to it on social media. Taking to the comments section, she wrote, "Fake news!!!”.

About Anupamaa

'Anupamaa' has been ruling TRP charts since its release in 2020. The show made Rupali Gangulu, Sudhanshu Panday and Gaurav Khanna household names. As several cast members have lfet the show, it is not looking at a 15-year generational leap. A fresh storyline is to follow, and several new cast members have been brought on board.

The new story would revolve around Anupamaa on a new journey as she tries to find her grown-up daughter Aadhya. 

About Smriti Irani

Smriti Irani was a popular face on TV from the early 2000s. It was with Ektaa Kapoor's 'Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi' which aired from July 2000 to November 2008, that she found immense fame. The show revolved around an ideal daughter-in-law, Tulsi( Smriti), the daughter of a pandit married to the grandsome of business tycoon Govardhan Virani( (Amar Upadhyay/ Ronit Roy).

At the time, 'Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhu Bahu Thi' was the most succesful serial with a double-digit TRP for six years. It also marked a turning point inboth Ektaa and Smriti's life. 

Smriti later joined the BJP in 2003 and has been associated with politics since.
