The sudden demise of TV actor Kavi Kumar Azad aka Dr. Hathi from Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chasmah has taken the fans and industry aback. The beloved actor breathed his last on July 9 after suffering a cardiac arrest. Kavi was battling health issues and had a bariatric surgery 8 years ago when he weighed over 250 kgs. After the operation, the actor got a new lease of life and lost around 100 kgs. Now, as per a report in an entertainment portal, it was Bollywood heartthrob Salman Khan who paid for the medical treatment of the deceased actor back then. The Race 3 actor paid for hospital room charges and the medicines consumed by Kavi Kumar, as per the report in SpotboyE. The Dus Ka Dum 3 host, who works closely with Dr. Mufti (the doctor who attended to Kavi), is said to pay the bills of the needy people, the report added. Salman Khan runs Being Human Foundation which provides education and healthcare services to the underprivileged people in India. Taarak Mehta actors paid their last respect to the actor at his funeral on Tuesday in Mumbai.
