Reality show singer arrested for robbery

New Delhi: A former reality show singer has been arrested for stealing Rs 80 lakh from two employees of a rice trader in Punjabi Bagh area, police said today. Puneet Anand (28) was arrested by a team of north west district police from a bus stand near Pitampura Metro station yesterday, said Vijay Singh, DCP (north west). The accused lived with his parents in Karala area of the city and was absconding since stealing the amount on July 28. He is a singer and claimed to have taken part in a popular singing reality show in 2009, said the officer. During interrogation, the accused admitted taking part in the robbery along with his accomplices, rice trader's employees, near Punjabi Bagh flyover. Three accused Ajit, Ashu and Mukesh have already been arrested by the police. Investigations revealed that Puneet and and his friends Susheel and Monty were also involved in the robbery, the officer said.
