Parth Samthaan Drops New Video as ACP Ayushman in CID: ‘It Was Never the Plan, But...'

Parth Samthaan replaces Shivaji Satam in CID as ACP Ayushman, shares emotional post and details about CID’s new plot revolving around ACP Pradyuman’s murder.

The iconic role of ACP Pradyuman has created quite a stir on the internet after it was announced that actor Parth Samthaan would be stepping into the show as a new lead, replacing veteran actor Shivaji Satam. The news has left CID fans and television audiences in shock.

On Thursday, Parth shared a behind-the-scenes (BTS) video from the sets of the revived iconic TV show, along with a heartfelt note explaining how this opportunity came his way unexpectedly. Parth, who is making a comeback to the small screen after a 5-year-long hiatus, expressed how CID has been a special part of his childhood and how being a part of the show now feels like a blessing.

Parth Samthaan’s Emotional Post

Sharing the BTS clip on Instagram, Parth wrote:“Introducing ACP Ayushman in the most iconic, loved and longest-running show – CID!!! This show has always been an integral part of our childhood and Indian Television. The all-time famous dialogues as well as the officers becoming veterans, or rather legends (ACP Pradyuman, Daya & Abhijeet), this show has seen it all — and to be a part of it is truly a blessing for me.”

He further added:“Moreover, me doing a comeback to TV after 5 years… to be honest, CID was one show I never thought I would be a part of. But then, that’s life — always unpredictable and mysterious, and I always end up taking that unplanned route for myself, be it Kaisi Yeh Yaariaan or Kasautii Zindagii Kay. So let’s begin this beautiful journey and crack some cases.”

On Initially Rejecting the Role

Parth’s social media post comes shortly after reports began circulating that he had initially rejected the role of ACP Pradyuman. In a conversation with Hindustan Times, Parth revealed,“Initially, I rejected the role of ACP Pradyuman because I didn’t relate to it. But the makers asked me to reconsider. I was also hesitant due to the show’s long-standing cast and the fact that they’d have to address me as ‘sir’ on screen. It felt a bit unusual and awkward.”

Details About the New Plotline

In an interview with Saas Bahu Aur Betiyaan, Parth shed light on his character and the plot surrounding his entry. He stated that his character, ACP Ayushman, will take on the investigation into ACP Pradyuman’s murder, along with other new cases. Interestingly, all existing characters will be treated as suspects in Pradyuman’s death, and Parth confirmed that his character will have no similarities to the iconic ACP Pradyuman played by Shivaji Satam.
