Actress Nimrit Kaur Ahluwalia recently opened up about a harrowing experience from her teenage years that left her shaken. In a recent interaction, the Choti Sardarni and Bigg Boss fame actress revealed that she was molested inside the Supreme Court of India when she was just 19 years old.

Recalling the traumatic incident during an interview with Hauterrfly, Nimrit said she was at the apex court for a hearing when she felt someone touch her inappropriately.

"I felt someone’s hand on my butt first. I thought I was overthinking it because everyone was in close contact," she said. The actress initially dismissed it, thinking it was accidental due to the crowded courtroom. However, the situation escalated.

The Molester Followed Her Across the Courtroom

Feeling uneasy, Nimrit changed her location and moved to another corner. To her shock, the same man followed her and again touched her inappropriately, even trying to put his hand inside her shirt.

"He moved from behind along with me. Then again, he touched my butt. I could feel tears well up in my eyes. I was in such a state of shock," she recalled emotionally.

Despite being surrounded by people in what should have been a secure environment, Nimrit felt unsafe and helpless.

A Senior Lawyer Came to Her Rescue

Thankfully, a senior female lawyer noticed Nimrit’s discomfort and approached her to ask if she was alright. When Nimrit nodded, the woman immediately confronted and slapped the accused man. She then called the police, and the matter was addressed on the spot.

"It’s just that you mentally feel like you’re in a safe space because you’re standing in the Supreme Court—and yet, it still happened," Nimrit said, emphasizing the shock and trauma of being assaulted in such a prestigious place.

Nimrit expressed deep gratitude towards the woman who stepped in to support her during that vulnerable moment.
