Karan Patel On Calling Bigg Boss ‘Dirty, Disrespectful Show': 'I Have Immense Respect For Channel, Host'
Popular television actor Karan Patel’s recent comment on the celebrity reality show ‘Bigg Boss’ has sparked a conversation among netizens.
New Delhi: Popular television actor Karan Patel’s recent comment on the celebrity reality show ‘Bigg Boss’ has sparked a conversation among netizens. Despite being offered the show multiple times, Patel has consistently declined the show stating that he is not cut out for the show. In a recent interview, he labelled Bigg Boss as 'a dirty, disrespectful show,' a statement that stirred controversy. The actor has now clarified his remark about the show.
At a recent event, Patel reiterated his disapproval of 'so-called influencers' participating in the show, stating, “It’s become such a dirty, disrespectful show to even be associated with.”
However, following the uproar caused by his comments, Patel took to social media to clarify his stance. In an Instagram post, he clarified that his remarks were misinterpreted. He explained that his reference to the show being 'dirty' was in the context of the content becoming increasingly controversial and inappropriate for family viewing. Patel expressed respect for the show's host Salman Khan and the production team, emphasising that his criticism was directed towards the content rather than the individuals associated with the show. Asserting his stand against character assassination on any platform, Patel called for media responsibility in accurately reporting news.
He wrote, “To finally put an end to all the uncalled-for reactions to a statement that I did not even make in the first place. When asked about Bigg Boss, I said the show has become far more lenient over the last few years and there is no limit to how low someone can go to character assassinate someone. Salman Bhai (host Salman Khan) has always requested the contestants week after week to mind their words as it’s a family show, and sometimes the episodes get so dirty that viewing it in the company of family members becomes shamefully awkward, and that’s the context I meant ‘dirty’ in, and not in any connection to the channel, the broadcaster, or the host. I have immense respect for all of them.”
On the professional front, Patel ventured into film production with his latest project 'Daranchoo,' marking his transition beyond the small screen.
