Deepika Singh Aka Sandhya Wears Her Police Uniform Again, Is 'Diya Aur Baati Hum 2' On The Cards?

Deepika Singh Goyal shared a video on her Instagram story, which has fueled the rumours of a new season of 'Diya Aur Baati Hum'.

New Delhi: Star Plus’ ‘Diya Aur Baati Hum’ managed to win the hearts of the viewers for five long years. The show, which premiered in August 2011, went off air on September 10, 2016 after a successful run of over 1450 episodes. The daily soap focused on the story of Sandhya, who became an IPS officer with the help of her husband Sooraj against all the odds. ‘ Diya Aur Baati Hum’ enjoyed a significant fan following and topped the TRP charts for several years, giving other top-rated shows including ‘Balika Vadhu’, ‘Pavitra Rishta’ a run for their money. Both Deepika Singh Goyal and Anas Rashid became household names after featuring in the show. The two received accolades for their performance in ‘DABH’. Deepika, who played the role of Sandhya Rathi, recently shared a video on her Instagram story in which she can be seen wearing police uniform. Although, she didn’t mention in her video, we spotted Sandhya Rathi’s badge on her uniform. Is ‘Diya Aur Baati Hum 2’ coming soon on Star Plus?

Star Plus recently announced the launch of ‘Saath Nibhana Saathiya 2’. The makers had unveiled the first promo of the second season of ‘Saathiya 2’ last month. The promo created a lot of anticipation for the daily soap among the viewers. Interestingly, Devoleena Bhattacharjee aka Gopi bahu introduced the character of Gehna in the promo. While Gehna’s face was not revealed in the teaser, she was said to be caring just like Gopi. Devoleena shared the promo on her Instagram handle and said that show was coming back on popular demand. Interestingly, Star Plus has launched the second season of several shows including ‘Kasautii Zindagii Kay’ and ‘Sanjivani’. While Erica Fernandes and Parth Samthaan starrer ‘Kasautii 2’ did a good job in terms of TRPs, Surbhi Chandna starrer ‘Sanjivani 2’ failed to impress the viewers. Interestingly, the channel has introduced the sequel of ‘Diya Aur Baati Hum’ in April 2017. The show starring Rhea Sharma and Avinesh Rekhi was titled ‘Tu Suraj Main Sanjh Piyaji’. It went off air in a year despite being shifted to 7pm slot.
