Rajinikanth's Video Message At Kanguva Audio Launch, Says 'I Am Pretty Sure It Was Made For Me'

During the 'Kanguva' audio launch, Rajinikanth praised director Siva and actor Suriya, suggesting that the film may have been written for him.

New Delhi: Tamil superstar Rajinikanth recently shared that ‘Kanguva’ was originally intended for him before the role ultimately went to Suriya. Via video message, Rajinikanth took part in the audio launch of the film and said that he had urged director Siva to make a period drama just for him. 

Rajinikanth said in the video clip that he had been invited to the event but couldn't make it because of his schedule. Rajinikanth first lauded producer Gnanavel Raja's ambition and vision. 

He thought back on a discussion he had with Siva about their partnership and how it could have influenced Kanguva. Rajinikanth said during the audio launch, “While working with Sive in Annaatthey, I asked him to come up with a historical subject for me, and I am pretty sure Kanguva was made for me. However, it should have gone through some change and must have gone to Suriya. But that’s alright. I hope he will come up with something else for me.”

Rajinikanth also talked about Suriya's dad, the legendary Sivakumar. “It’s been 27 years, and you all know that I have had many ups and downs. But for Suriyan (Sun) to rise, it has to set first. I am glad, I have had falls. Or else, I wouldn’t have had a great comeback. Even in archery, you have to pull the arrow back before propelling it forward to hit the target. Kanguva will do that,” he said.

About ‘Kanguva’

The fantasy drama ‘Kanguva’, which spanned both the past and the future, had a budget of more than Rs 300 crore. On November 15, the film will be released worldwide. Suriya plays the part of a tribal warlord, while Bobby Deol and Disha Patani also play important roles.
