Tamil actor Vishal Krishna Reddy, popularly known as Vishal, gave fans a scare on Sunday after he unexpectedly fainted during a public appearance in Villupuram, Tamil Nadu. The actor, who was attending a special event organised by the transgender community, was immediately taken to a nearby hospital. His team later assured that he is stable and recovering well.

The incident occurred during the Miss Koovagam Transgender Beauty Contest, a prominent cultural event in the region. According to reports, Vishal had just stepped on stage when he suddenly collapsed in front of the audience. A video circulating online shows the actor arriving at the venue before the incident unfolded. Times Now reported that former Tamil Nadu minister K. Ponmudy, also present at the event, swiftly coordinated with the organisers to ensure Vishal received prompt medical attention. He was transported to a hospital in Chennai.

Vishal's team gives health update

On Monday, Vishal’s team issued a statement offering clarity on what happened. “We would like to clarify recent reports regarding Actor Vishal’s health. During his appearance as Chief Guest at an event organized by the transgender community, #Vishal experienced a brief episode of fatigue and fainted. It was later confirmed that he had skipped his regular meal that afternoon, having only consumed juice, which likely led to a drop in energy levels. He was immediately taken to a nearby hospital, where doctors conducted a thorough check-up,” the official note read.

The team added that the actor was not facing any serious health issues and had simply experienced a bout of exhaustion. “Fortunately, there is no cause for concern. The medical team has confirmed that Vishal is in good health and has advised him to maintain regular meal timings going forward. He is currently doing well and recovering with rest,” the statement concluded, also thanking fans for their support.

This isn’t the first time concerns have been raised about Vishal’s health. Back in January, the actor was seen looking visibly tired during a public event, with footage from the day showing his hands slightly trembling as he addressed the audience. At the time, his team had attributed it to fatigue and denied any illness.
